PS3 Firmware 1.9
Sony is ready to release it newest firmware update for the Playstation 3 sometime this week. Version 1.9 will include several aesthetic and technical updates.
The aesthetic updates will include personalization of your menu background with your own photo. You will also be able to use emoticons when sending messages to your buddies on the Playstation Network. It is said to include an avatar feature to show movement in response to voice and video chat as well.
The technical updates will include greater output from your CDs, compatibility with AVCHD video, and the ability to eject your disc with the controller. It seems Sony is hard at work, releasing its newest firmware update within a few months from the last.
