Microsoft: All Games Work Without 360 Hard Drive
Microsoft has denied reports that core Xbox 360 owners will require a hard drive to play certain titles. This rumor came about over a ‘hard disk drive required’ sticker reported by Xbox Family.
A Microsoft spokesperson told GamePro, “Every game will work with every Xbox 360 system, but just like some games will require you to have a Memory Unit to save games, some games will require you to have a Hard Drive to experience them.”
There are a reported 20 percent of Xbox 360 core system owners, those lacking a hard drive. The obvious drawback of not owning a hard drive is the inability to save game progress. That doesn’t seem to justify even buying a game that will require a hard drive. In essence you still need to upgrade in order to fully play a game. There is no way someone is going to beat a game in an entire sitting without having to save at some point. The statement by Microsoft is essentially bogus, unless you want to play a game as if it were a demo, you are going to need a hard drive.
