FIFA ‘08 Cover Features Teen Star
Electronic Arts has announced a new cover star, Josmer (Jozy) Altidore, for their FIFA ‘08 title. Altidore will be the second youngest athlete, and one of only five teenagers to be featured on an EA SPORTS cover art. He currently plays for the New York Red Bulls of Major League Soccer.
Altidore started in the MLS when he was only 16 years old in the 2006 season, scoring his first goal, and becoming a fan favorite. Now 17, he is very excited about his new opportunity to shine. He states, “It’s exciting to be on the cover of my favorite videogame and I am really looking forward to playing as myself in FIFA Soccer 08. I can hardly wait to play with my virtual character wearing the Red Bull uniform and taking on the world’s top defenders one-on-one.”
Romain Rossi, Director of Marketing for EA SPORTS, comments, “At EA SPORTS we believe in identifying the most talented up-and-coming athletes in the world to help us develop the most authentic sports games. We believe Altidore is one of the next great American soccer stars and Ochoa [also featured on the FIFA '08 cover] is winning admiration from many fans for his exceptional ability.”
