New C&C3 Expansion Pack: Kane’s Wrath
EA recently announced a new expansion pack for Command & Conquer 3 on the BattleCast Primetime show. The news was officially announced by C&C3 producer, Jim Vessella. Kane’s Wrath focuses on Kane and the rise of the NOD during the Second Tiberium Wars, continuing through the Third Wars and beyond.
The expansion pack will feature a new gameplay mode called Global Domination, along with more units, upgrades, powers and structures for each of the core factions. Also included in the expansion pack is two sub-factions for each core faction, as well as 24 new multiplayer maps.
Jim Vessella comments, “It’s a game like Risk but on steroids, supporting the C&C3 fiction with ion cannons, nukes and mammoth tanks, as you move your armies round the entire world. When armies collide you will jump down into to that fast and fluid C&C gameplay that you know and love. When you come out these units will persist, allowing for a longer more global campaign.”
Xbox 360 owners will get an added bonus. A ‘radial interface’ will give Xbox 360 gamers an easier way to navigate and issue commands. Vessella comments on this added functionality.
“It allows exponentially more speed and power to the user. When they are managing their building queues, it allows them to manage their base from anywhere on the map and they never have to go back. This is our next innovation and we really think it’s going to revolutionise RTS on home consoles.”
Command & Conquer 3: Kane’s Wrath will be available for the Xbox 360 and PC platform. Expect more news to come.
