Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror Released On PS2
Sony announced today the release of Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror for the PlayStation 2 console. Developed by SCEA’s Bend Studio, the game has had much success on the PlayStation Portable. SCEA is committed to bringing the Syphon franchise to the PlayStation 2, releasing Dark Mirror two weeks before the sixth installment, Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow, for the PlayStation Portable.
“Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror is a story-driven, intense action adventure that we are very excited to share with PlayStation 2 owners. The control configurations for Dark Mirror are a natural fit for PlayStation 2. With the addition of the second analog stick, players have event more ability to control Gabe Logan,” said John Garvin, Creative Director, Bend Studios, “We adjusted the textures and character models so they uphold the quality of a PlayStation 2 game on the consumer’s televisions and are very happy with the results.”
In Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror, players take on the identity of Gabe Logan, a highly-trained Precision Strike Operative, commanding a black box military agency that legally doesn’t exist and answers to no one. As Logan, players must take down Red Section, a deadly para-military group, attempting to steal Project Dark Mirror, a classified government project. In a deep and engaging storyline, the player learns secrets and mysteries about Gabe’s past never before mentioned in the Syphon Filter series.
