PlayStation Eye Details
The PlayStation Eye is set to release October 23, 2007 as a bundle with The Eye Of Judgement, a unique trading card game in the form of 3-D visualizations using the PlayStation Eye. Before its release, the PlayStation Blog has provided some more details about the new piece of hardware.
The PlayStation Eye isn’t just for playing The Eye Of Judgement, it can also be used as a video blogging camera, and will be playable with other future games. That is why the PlayStation Eye will be available as a stand-alone product for $39.99.
You may be thinking, What is the difference from the EyeToy camera? Well, the PlayStation Blog says, “PlayStation Eye was engineered from the onset to perform well in low-light conditions. It also has a 2-setting zoom lens (normal and wide angle) with fixed focus. PlayStation Eye gets a sharp, clear picture at 640 x 480 resolution at 60 frames per second (at 320 x 240 it looks even better at 120 fps)!”
The PlayStation Eye also does an exceptional job at filtering out background noise to provide crisp clear sound.
Sony is also promising free content and fun activities available for download on the PlayStation Network. EyeCreate Software will allow you to edit and share videos, photos, and audio clips, which will be perfect for creating music videos while playing SingStar.
