Sony Giving PS3 Owners Profile 1.1 For Christmas?
It is rumored that Sony will be releasing another firmware update for the PlayStation 3 console this holiday season. Included in the update will be compatibility for Profile 1.1 for Blu-ray movie discs.
Profile 1.1 has features such as picture-in-picture, secondary audio, and local storage capabilities. These feature are already standard with competing format HD-DVD.
They only problem with this gift from Sony is that there are no Blu-ray Profile 1.1 movies available on the market today. So, this is more of a perk for Sony to add to its technologically advanced console. The more features the better for the PlayStation 3 since its still trailing in sales behind the Xbox 360 and Wii consoles.
