Metal Gear Solid 4 Contains 90 Minute Cut Scenes

MGS4 Snake Sleeping

Yes, that is correct. It has been revealed by PSW Magazine in its 108th issue that Metal Gear Solid 4 will contain cut scenes in the 90 minute range. For those of you that failed math, that is the length of a typical movie!

Metal Gear Solid 2 had a cut scene in the 45 minute range, but 90 minutes is getting to be a bit much in one sitting. I’m not much of a fan of lengthy cut scenes, unless it is the end of the game, which is expected for some sort of closure. If the storyline is as epic as something like Lord of the Rings, perhaps it will be worth it, considering I have watch the extended versions a couple of times now.

The good news for folks that don’t want to sit through the whole 90 minutes is that you can skip them or pause them for later. Skipping seems like a waste though.

After completing the game, I can say there are definitely some lengthy cut scenes. I’m pretty sure the ending was over an hour long, especially if you watch the scene after the first credits. It was one of the most drawn out endings I have ever seen. Considering I haven’t played the other Metal Gear games, I had no idea what was going on during the last scene with Big Boss and Zero.
