No Price Cuts For PS3 In 2008

PS3 Side ViewThere is some bad news for those gamers who are still waiting to buy a PS3.  Sony’s chief financial officer Nobuyuki Oneda has stated that there will be not price cut on the Playstation 3 this year.

“This year, our strategy is not to sell more quantity for PS3 but to concentrate on profitability,” Oneda told a forum in Singapore. “Our plan is not to reduce the price.”

Oneda’s statments comes after a report in the Wall Street Journal saying Microsoft is planning on cutting the price of one of the models for the Xbox 360.  The price cut is expected as early as this Sunday.

Oneda also stated that Sony is expected to make a profit in the year of 2009.

The good thing is that the Xbox 360 will be a great deal, expecially with a lot of anticipated games setting to be released in the near future, such as Fable 2 and Fallout 3.
