What is GamingBOB.com?

GamingBOB was established in May of 2007 as a sandbox personal website. In July of 2007 the website turned into a full fledged video gaming news website. With the change came the “Back-Off Boredom!” slogan as an acronym for BOB.

The site is dedicated to video gaming, hardware, industry news and bits of other content thrown in. GamingBOB will bring you the latest gaming news and rumors spreading across the internet.

GamingBOB has achieved some moderate success since its beginning. On August 24, 2007 an article about the popular game BioShock containing a rootkit hit the front page of Slashdot. The article led to a lot of controversy in the video gaming world which catapulted GamingBOB in to the spotlight. Shortly after the article hit the front page of Slashdot, the rootkit was discovered to be a false positive and the article was changed to reflect the misconception.

Due to the BioShock article, GaminBOB was referenced in Wikipedia and included in the Yahoo! Directory. In October of 2007 the site was included in the Open Directory Project, commonly known as DMOZ. As a result GamingBOB is also included in the Google Directory.

Hopefully as the site continues to grow it will gain more popularity and recognition in the video gaming industry.
