Today Sony has released a special download for Metal Gear Solid 4, a so-called “Database” featuring the history of the Metal Gear story. The Playstation Blog has this to say about the content of the Database,
“The MGS4 Database is a free, downloadable interactive application that contains the official knowledge base of everything that is Metal Gear, reaching all the way back to the very beginning of the franchise. Including complete storylines, character profiles, relationship diagrams, and much more! The MGS4 database is a great way to catch up for someone new to Metal Gear, as well as a useful resource for any veteran of the series, with complete official details on every aspect of the intricate Metal gear lore.”
Yes, that is correct. It has been revealed by PSW Magazine in its 108th issue that Metal Gear Solid 4 will contain cut scenes in the 90 minute range. For those of you that failed math, that is the length of a typical movie!
Many predicted Grand Theft Auto IV would break some sort of record in terms of sales. Rockstar has confirmed that GTAIV broke all-time entertainment records for day one and week one sales by dollar value. Approximately 6 million units were sold globally with an estimated retail value of more than $500 million in the first week. GTAIV additionally sold approximately 3.6 million units on its opening day with a retail value of approximately $310 million globally.
I finally got my hands on Grand Theft Auto IV after waiting anxiously for it to arrive in the mail. I have been a huge GTA fan since GTAIII, and with each version afterwards I have always picked it up on the first day, and proceeded to take a week off of whatever I was doing. Unfortunately, I had to have GTAIV delivered to me, regardless it is now in my possession. After only completing 4.11% of the game, I am amazed at the details that went into this game.
