At the Nintendo media summit today in San Francisco, Nintendo’s Senior V.P. of Marketing George Harrison confirmed that Super Smash Brothers Brawl for the Wii will be delayed to Sunday, February 10, 2008 in the US.

REDMOND, Wash., Oct. 1, 2007. Today’s launch of The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass for Nintendo DS marks the arrival of perhaps the deepest, richest story ever to appear on a hand-held video game system. The game requires players to fill up the Phantom Hourglass with sand and give themselves enough time to delve deeper and deeper into the ultimate dungeon. It has received critical praise both in the United States and in Japan, where it launched in late June.

Sony announced today the release of Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror for the PlayStation 2 console. Developed by SCEA’s Bend Studio, the game has had much success on the PlayStation Portable. SCEA is committed to bringing the Syphon franchise to the PlayStation 2, releasing Dark Mirror two weeks before the sixth installment, Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow, for the PlayStation Portable.

Nintendo today announces the Pokemon GTS (Global Trade Station) Web site goes online worldwide Sept. 15 and will be a great resource for Pokemon fans interested in learning more about trading their favorite characters.
The Global Trade Station already allows the trade of millions of Pokemon between trainers worldwide. Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl are the fastest-selling games in the history of the series, with worldwide sales in excess of 10 million games. Players use their Nintendo DS portable game systems to link wirelessly to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, allowing them to scan which Pokemon are available from different nations and offer to trade with other players.

Back in July the PlayStation Blog was reporting a release date of August 14, 2007 for Lair. That news didn’t live up to its promise, but Sony has confirmed that Lair is now available exclusively for the PlayStation 3 console.
Developed by Factor 5, Lair engages players to fight alongside a voracious dragon and to save a world from the brink of extinction. The epic fantasy tale, Jeanne d’Arc, is being released to the U.S. market exclusively on the PlayStation Portable. Jeanne d’Arc is a RPG set in 15th Century France and is based on the tale of Joan of Arc. The title had much success in the Japan market when it was released in 2006, and will bring brilliantly detailed environments, a unique team-based attack system, and an immersive storyline with more than 40 hours of gameplay to U.S. consumers.

2K Games has announced a new sci-fi shooter being developed by Gearbox Software. Borderlands will blend first-person action with character progression, and will include intense action with hundreds of thousands of weapons. This one sounds like it is going to be a winner.
