The epic fantasy tale, Jeanne d’Arc, is being released to the U.S. market exclusively on the PlayStation Portable. Jeanne d’Arc is a RPG set in 15th Century France and is based on the tale of Joan of Arc. The title had much success in the Japan market when it was released in 2006, and will bring brilliantly detailed environments, a unique team-based attack system, and an immersive storyline with more than 40 hours of gameplay to U.S. consumers.

2K Games has announced a new sci-fi shooter being developed by Gearbox Software. Borderlands will blend first-person action with character progression, and will include intense action with hundreds of thousands of weapons. This one sounds like it is going to be a winner.

Nintendo has announced this month to be the “Month Of Metroid”. To kick things off, Nintendo has launched a Metroid Prime 3: Corruption trailer available for download via the Shop Channel. This is the first time Nintendo has offered a trailer to download for the Wii console, following Microsoft and Sony, both offering downloads via their networks.

Hellgate: London, by Electronic Arts, Namco Bandai Games America, and Flagship Studios, is set to release October 31, 2007 in North America. Europe will have to wait until November 2, 2007. Hellgate: London is a role-playing game set in, you guessed it, London in the year 2038. It is developed by the creators behind Diablo, and features a similar experience in story-driven adventure.
Bill Roper, CEO of Flagship Studios comments, “We wanted to hit the sweet-spot for release in terms of the development schedule and delivering the highest-quality game to our players. Halloween was the perfect fit as it ensures that Hellgate: London will have an appropriate amount of beta testing, while also being an incredibly fun time to unleash the game.”
The official Playstation Blog is reporting the completion of Lair, and has confirmed a release date of August 14th in North America. There are no concrete dates on completion status for regions in Europe, Japan, Korea, and other areas. This means North Americans get first dibs to ride the dragons and repel onslaughts of sword wielding enemies, all while working there way up the Lair Leaderboard.
Sega has confirmed the release date for Virtua Fighter 5 on October 30th. The title was released earlier this year on Playstation 3. The big change for the Xbox 360 release is online play, a missing key feature fans have wanted.
A few other features accompanying the online mode is the ability to download matches from the top leaderboards to analyze fighting styles of the best players on the net, and the availability of Virtua Fighter 5 content on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace.
Ninja Theory’s Heavenly Sword Demo is expected to release in the UK via the Playstation Network this Thursday, July 26.
The demo will include a bit of sword wielding Nariko, the main character, encountering some dangerous situations. Sony has said this demo is the same that was shown at the Sony’s Gamer Day earlier this year.
