Halo 3’s release in the past few days is astounding, with sales of more than $170 million nationwide. As with BioShock’s release, many problems are surfacing on the web with Halo 3, including disc-read errors, scratched DVDs, and now claims that the game does not run in High Definition, as was advertised by Bungie.

The folks at Beyond 3D Forums have done some analyzing, and have come to the conclusion through pixel counting, that Halo 3 in fact runs natively at 640p, not 720p required for High Definition.

The launch of Halo 3 on Tuesday, September 26, was not so pleasant for some gamers. Claims of damage to limited edition copies of Halo 3 have surfaced around the web due to the packaging causing scratches.
Microsoft has quickly assured gamers that damaged discs are covered under their Xbox Disc Replacement Program.

The day of anticipation has finally arrived for many gamers. Halo 3 is now available in stores for the Xbox 360. A few humorous pictures have marked its arrival.
Students at Massachusetts Institute of Technology pulled a prank, or “hack”, on the launch day of Halo 3 by decorating the John P. Harvard statue in Harvard Yard with a Spartan helmet, an assault rifle, and a Beaver emblem on the right shoulder. The back of the helmet reads “Mater Chief in Training”.

Microsoft and Bungie are continuing their Halo 3 “Believe” ads, releasing a new video named Two Soldiers Reminisce. The video features two Halo 3 war veterans sharing a few words in a interview style format.
The characters include Maj. Roland Huffman; UNSC (ret.), who served during 2548-2573, and Sgt. Thomas Navarro; UNSC (ret.), who served during 2555-2567. Maj. Huffman talks a little about the weapons they used, including the Covenant Brute Spiker. A teary-eyed Huffman also gives a possible hint to Master Chief’s sacrifice. It is less than a week before the anticipated release of Microsoft’s Halo 3 for the Xbox 360. Yet, software pirates have managed to leak the entire game DVD files on the internet.
In similar fashion, Halo 2 started its debut, spreading across the internet nearly a month before its release in 2004. Microsoft managed to keep the damage to a minimum this time around. It is no surprise that Halo 3 has been pirated and uploaded to the internet due to its enormous anticipation in recent months. Just recently the ending for the game was leaked on to video sharing sites such as YouTube.

The Enemy Territory: Quake Wars PC demo was released on September 10, 2007, and gives us a glimpse into the action packed shooter. Quake Wars is more than just your typical first-person shooter. The game requires your team to complete several objectives to progress forward. Each player can have individual tasks to perform in order to gain a higher field rank and to gain new player abilities.

The developers of Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars have confirmed its gold status and have sent it off to manufacturing. They are also releasing a demo available to download on September 10, 2007.
The demo will include the final version of Valley, one of the larger battlegrounds in the game. The level is set in Yosemite, California with the Global Defense Force on the attack, attempting to foil a Strogg plot against a water treatment plant. The Valley level is a prime example of the frantic and diverse action you’ll find in Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars.

The newest installment of EA’s Medal Of Honor franchise, Medal Of Honor: Airborne, has shipped today nationwide in the U.S. as well as in the UK. The game is available for PC and Xbox 360, and will feature a new non-linear approach to First-Person Shooters.

Sierra Entertainment has recently released a demo of TimeShift available on Xbox LIVE. Sierra will also be releasing an exclusive scene of an original movie based on TimeShift. The scene will be available on Break.com, a popular video website.
