StreamMyGame has launced its Linux Player application, which allows you to play PC games through you PlayStation 3. This technology is useful for those of you with insufficient computer hardware for the latest games on the market.

The Linux Player application allows you to play games remotely through dedicated StreamMyGame servers. This gives you remote access to the game through another computer or console, including the PlayStation 3.

Sony Giving PS3 Owners Profile 1.1 For Christmas?

It is rumored that Sony will be releasing another firmware update for the PlayStation 3 console this holiday season. Included in the update will be compatibility for Profile 1.1 for Blu-ray movie discs.

Profile 1.1 has features such as picture-in-picture, secondary audio, and local storage capabilities. These feature are already standard with competing format HD-DVD.

PS3 Will Gain DivX Technology

PlayStation 3DivX Inc. today announced the PlayStation 3 will soon gain DivX video technology integration.

PlayStation 3 Updated To Version 2.00

PlayStation 3Sony has announced the availability of the latest firmware update for the PlayStation 3 console. Version 2.00 features the ability to turn a PS3 system on and off remotely, using a PSP system via the Remote Play function, allowing for a truly mobile partnership between the two systems.

PS3 and Folding@home in Guiness World Records

The Stanford Folding@home distributed computer network has been recognized as the most power by Guiness World Records with help from the collective efforts of PlayStation 3 owners worldwide.

The record was initially set on September 16, 2007 as Folding@home surpassed one petaflop, a computing milestone that has never been reached before by a distributed computing network. In addition to this, the collective efforts of PS3 users have enabled PS3 alone to reach the petaflops mark on September 23, 2007.

Wii Gets 3.1 Firmware Update

WiiNintendo released its newest firmware update for the Wii console. Version 3.1 brings a few new features to the console, including USB keyboard support and improved internet browsing.

Additional updates include hyperlink compatibility in the Wii message boards resulting in the browser window launching automatically, and users will now be able to submit their own questions on the “Everybody Votes” channel.

BioShock Demo Installs SecuROM Service

2K Games recently issued at statement addressing the DRM protection and widescreen problems for the BioShock PC game. In the statement 2K reveals a change in number of activations available with each copy of BioShock. Consumers are now allowed to activate their copy of BioShock a total of five times via the SecuROM network. Problems have already surfaced on the third-party severs preventing users from activating their copy of the game.

What 2K has failed to address is the the SecuROM service installed on your computer when installing BioShock, which is also included in the demo.
