Microsoft has announced a few limited edition Halo 3 accessories available September 4, 2007 for the Xbox 360.

Microsoft is taking precautionary measures for its Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel after reports of malfunction of the AC/DC power supply adapter. The adapter is known to overheat, causing the device to release smoke. Although this problem isn’t widespread, Microsoft is still offering a retrofit replacement, and is urging all owners to stop using the AC/DC adapter immediately.
There have been no reported incidences of fire, personal injury or property damage resulting from the component failure in the wheel. Owners can continue to operate the Wireless Racing Wheel through battery operation while waiting to receive the retrofit replacement.

A Belgian source to Gamernode is reporting a future renaming of the premium and core models of the Xbox 360. A picture shows the three models side-by-side with comparisons, and new names. It appears that the premium model will be renamed “Pro”, and the core model will now be called “Arcade”.

Microsoft is cutting prices on the Xbox 360 again, this time in Europe. Earlier this month Microsoft dropped the price in the U.S. by $50, a 13% decrease from the previous MSRP. The price cut in Europe will include a decrease of 50 euros on the premium model, down to 349.99 euros ($470 USD).
The core model of the Xbox 360, which lacks an internal hard-drive, will also see a price cut of 20 euros, down to a MSRP of 299.99 euros. Microsoft also has plans to release the Xbox 360 Elite model in Europe at a price of 499.99 euros. The Elite model includes a 120GB hard-drive and a sleek black exterior.

A member of the Xbox-Scene forums took it upon himself to pimp his Xbox 360 with a few appearance mods. This users’ custom job features a chromed out Xbox logo and grill, a number of internal green LEDs, an Xbox 360 controller emblem, and an internalized WiFi adapter.

Microsoft has released some details about the Xbox 360 Elite shipping to Australia. The Aussie will be expecting two versions of the Xbox 360 console, including a special addition Halo 3 system.
The Xbox 360 Elite will be available to Aussie gamers August, 30 2007 at a price of 729.99AUD. The special edition Halo 3 console will be available September 20, 2007 at a price of 679.95AUD. Aussies will also be able to purchase the 120GB hard-drive upgrade for 299.95AUD.

Just a week ago Microsoft issued a statement to GamePro claiming all Xbox 360 games will work without a hard drive. Now they are saying some games will indeed require a hard drive. I knew the statement was bogus in the first place.
Microsoft gave the go-ahead for massive multiplayer online developers to be able to create games that will require a hard drive. “Feel free to require 30GB for your game - that’s just going to make your potential audience a lot smaller,” a Microsoft representative told a group of developers while speaking at GameFest.

This clever gamer, known as OBsIV, has managed to combine his Xbox 360 and Wii remote to play Halo 2. He calls his creation Xbox 360 Input Machine, or XIM for short.
